Mid-Atlantic Capital Alliance comes as a result of our desire to change our Philadelphia-centric image and be a broader voice and advocate for promoting the Mid-Atlantic Region as a hub for entrepreneurship, corporate growth and investment. We are positioning ourselves for Greater Regional Reach and Membership.
MAC Alliance also reflects our expanded mission, one aspect of which is to be a catalyst for all stages of private equity — from venture to buyout. The word "Capital" was chosen because it's stage agnostic. "Alliance" was chosen to convey the idea of partnership and collaboration between funds, investors, entrepreneurs and companies for the advantage and benefit of all. We have already reached out to several other entrepreneurial, venture and private equity organizations to work together to create greater opportunities for cross fertilization of ideas, events and opportunities. The MAC Alliance's new 2006-07 schedule (PDF) will highlight these new opportunities.
The conference will continue to be the flagship event for MAC Alliance and will simply be called the MAC Conference beginning in 2007.
