2007 Mid-Atlantic Capital Conference Recap

Thank you for your support of the 2007 Mid-Atlantic Capital Conference.  The 2007 event was a fantastic event, comprised of an exciting blend of keynote speakers, lively panel discussions, company presentations, and networking.  The success of the 2007 MAC Conference was due to the support and to the contribution of time, energy, and resources that you, your colleagues, and others in the community made.

As we work to put together the 2008 MAC Conference, which is being held on December 2 & 3 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and the Crystal Tea Room, we wanted to give you a quick recap of last year's event:

  • 1,140 people registered to attend the 2007 MAC Conference.
  • 226 entrepreneurs attended and participated in the event.
  • 80 firms sponsored this year’s Conference.  MAC Conference also had 16 new sponsors, which included 4 new private equity investor offices.
  • 5 times as many as investors from outside the region attended the 2007 MAC Conference than participated in the 2006 event.
  • 24 Featured Companies, representing new innovations and all stages of development, made their presentations to our audience.
  • Approximately 400 people attended Pete Peterson’s presentation on Tuesday, October 23.  Approximately 450 people attended the Breakfast Keynote given by James Carville and Mary Matalin.  A full crowd also attended the Hall of Fame and MAC Conference Awards Ceremonies.
  • The breakout rooms enjoyed standing room only (over 175 people) for most of the day’s presentations and panels.

The MAC Alliance and MAC Conference leadership are grateful for all that our community has done to make the 2007 Conference so outstanding.  We thank you for your continuing support, and we look forward to working with you on the 2008 MAC Conference, December 2 & 3, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and the Crystal Tea Room!
